CNC Setter/Manual Machinist

We are working with a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality vacuum equipment, due to continued growth they are looking for CNC setter/manual machinist.

Job Description

Responsibilities: To machine parts within a specified time frame, producing a quality product, using various types of manual machine shop equipment including Lathes and Mills. Parts must be machined to the specifications and tolerance of assigned drawings. Setting of Work Pieces and Tooling on CNC equipment as required. The post holder will be required to support all other functions within the manufacturing operation. 

Key Job Elements:

Perform machining operations on lathes and mills and other machine shop equipment.

  • Follow routers, drawings and complete in process inspection sheet
  • Proficient at reading and understanding measuring devices
  • Ability to record dimensions created while machining
  • May be required to identify and repair minor machine malfunctions
  • Entering time through shop floor control
  • Flexible approach to work (extended hours and/or weekends at peak levels)
  • Multi-task within a manufacturing cell
  • At all times promote and maintain a Safe and Clean Work environment
  • Other Duties as assigned 

Qualifications: Required

  • GCSE’s or Equivalent
  • Proven relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances


  • Fork Lift License
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • First Aid Training
  • Manual Handling
  • Delcam or MasterCam Programming experience
