Plating Shop Team Leader

£35,000 – £40,000


Our client are a market leading, global, interconnect specialist. They specialise in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of connectors and interconnect products for a highly demanding customer base in the Aerospace, Military and Industrial sectors.

Poised for further growth, and investment, we are now seeking to recruit a Plating Shop Team Leader who will help deliver unrivalled levels of excellence.   The successful applicant will be responsible for taking day to day ownership and management of the Plating department production.  They will make sure targets are achieved and the highest standards of quality are consistently maintained through high levels of process control.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the production plan to achieve on-time delivery of plated parts
  • Working in close co-operation with Laboratory and scheduling to guarantee production of required product through working process tanks
  • The management of all staff within Plating including Cell Leaders
  • Managing environment and Operators, ensuring compliance with regulations especially health and safety
  • Promoting a culture of absolute process control through data driven initiatives, and robust management of staff to follow procedures
  • Promptly recognising production issues and facilitating the corrective action, avoiding the production of rework and scrap
  • Robust use of 5C / 6S lean tools

Essential Qualities include:

  • IMF technical qualification, or ONC or equivalent qualification
  • Electroplating experience working within an Electroplating Processing environment
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience of problem solving and process improvement
  • Ability to work closely with analytical Laboratory and agree planned down time for line maintenance
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, and execute planned production maintaining total quality
  • Safety conscious
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality
  • Good communication skills
