I am recruiting for a Risk & Compliance Assistant on behalf of my client, a leading law firm based in Bromley and am keen to hear from candidates with experience of working within a similar environment.  This would suit someone who has recently graduated and who has experience of working within Risk & Compliance within a law firm.  You will be looking for a long term career in Risk & Compliance rather than seeing this as a stepping stone to a training contract.

You will be responsible for supporting the Risk & Compliance Manager and Management team in day to day tasks relating to all aspects of Risk & Compliance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking due diligence checks on clients and new staff
  • Preparation of accreditation and annual renewal applications such as Lexcel
  • Administration of Risk Management training courses
  • Maintaining Risk Management data on complaints and claims and provision of reports
  • Assisting with monitoring compliance with AMLKYC and other risk management policies and procedures
  • With training and experience to advise fee earners and support staff on client due diligence requirements and other risk management procedures as appropriate
  • To ensure completion and accurate record keeping is maintained in line with AMLKYC regulations
  • Assist in the renewal of indemnity insurance and other covers, information security, matter management, supplier procurement etc.
  • Undertaking research on current and new compliance requirements
  • Assisting in GDPR developments and implementation including ongoing review
  • Administration of firm asset register

You will need to be competent when extracting and analysing data, alongside having good reporting and presentation skills, whilst also being  proficient in IT with excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

You will have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, have a high level of accuracy with excellent attention to details.

As this is a standalone role you will also need to have the ability and experience to work on own initiative and to prioritise work in order to meet any deadlines set.

The hours for this role are full time Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm and the salary will be circa £24,000 dependent upon experience.
